On 3rd December we attended the regional Sports Hall Athletics for small schools in the south of the county in the Abbey Vocational School.
We competed very well in all events and even won a few races and individual events. It was a most enjoyable day with pupils competing in a number of relay races, vertical jump, shot push, standing long jump and speedbounce. Overall we finished 4th, just 5 points off 3rd. This was an amazing achievement for our school as the top three schools were much bigger schools than ourselves and can draw from a bigger pool of talent. We really did punch well above our weight. The children were a credit on the day and our massive thanks to Mary Callaghan for her coaching in the weeks leading up to the event.
