On Wednesday 14th February ’24 we welcomed Svitlana to our school to share with us her storytelling skills through the Ukrainian language. This was part of our Creative School programme.
This was a lovely experience for all the pupils. It made our Irish pupils realise what it is like to sit through a lesson in another language that you do not understand. Lana covered the story of Finn MacCumhaill which she had read before in Ukraine long before ever coming to Ireland.
The whole event was so heartwarming and our Ukrainian pupils were just delighted to have her visit us.
A cultural exchange of sorts ensued then with Irish dancing, tin whistles, and Ukrainian traditional songs!!! What a memorable day!
