Our school has been very fortunate to receive funding from the Cloghervaddy Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund, administered by non-profit Change X. We have chosen their Pollinator Plan and we are transforming our garden into a thriving habitat for bees and pollinators. The funding has enabled us to purchase plants that are pollinator friendly and can help to reduce biodiversity decline. The children are learning so much from this, planting skills, plant care and the importance of sustainability of our nature and environment. It will be a lovely enhancement of our school grounds which our wider community can also admire.
We were lucky to have Emer from Ashtree Garden Centre onsite to give advice on the planting of the beds and garden. Thanks Emer!
