We were delighted to compete for the first time in our history in Hurling and Camogie. This great game was introduced to the school by our Principal, Mr. O’Toole.
We competed against schools very similar to ourselves, in that they got some training in school for a few weeks and don’t play hurling or camogie outside of school. We played against Gaeltacht schools from Glencolmcille, Carrick and Kilcar. They received coaching only just this year through an Ulster GAA Gaeltacht coach.
The blitz was fantastic fun as we played lots of games. We played most of our games with two sliotars!! This meant everyone was very busy and got plenty of touches of the sliotar. There was so much action! We all improved our skills vastly from the day and thoroughly enjoyed playing our native game for the first time.
